Right now at LucidWild, we are in the meticulous process of shoot thinning. The farming team is moving through the estate rows, thinning from two shoots per bud down to just one. Why this level of detail? It comes down to two goals:

1. Health: Reducing density allows for greater airflow through the canopy, providing a natural defense against mildew.

2. Quality: By selecting the strongest single shoot, we ensure the vine’s energy isn’t divided. Instead, every bit of power from our volcanic soils is concentrated into producing the most expressive, high-concentration grapes possible.

It’s a disciplined “edit” of the vines that sets the stage for the 2026 vintage to come.
